FBI spook in town

With a world under a terrorism cloud the spooks are having a party. FBI chief Robert Mueller is in India, giving some tips to the Indian intelligence agencies. Tips for avoiding Headley? Or better coordination in not picking up other foreign spooks checking on Indian preparedness against terrorism from near the airports?
Mueller can't teach anything to the Indian agencies as they seem to be omnipresent but still fall hopelessly short when it comes to preventing terrorist attacks on the country.

Government Maoist peace deal??

After years of showdown and shadow boxing the two have finally decided to hold talks. Or have they......
The day saw President and the Maoist make each other a peace talk offer. It is yet to be seen if that will work. Extremist organisations the world over have been known to use the ceasefire period as a period of consolidation. The state governments also need to be involved in this process as they are the ones who are dealing with this problem day in and day out at the ground level.

Editor escapes

The editor of a major newspaper escaped arrest this week. Acting like another journalist who felt that they could act above the law the editor had apparently not appeared before a Delhi court. The organisation has now spent upwards of Rs 5 lakh for securing bail for the editor, who was facing charges of defamation. Can't name the organisation or the person.
