Paid news is not a new thing. It has always existed. And the Editors Guild and Press Council of India can do nothing about it because the people benefiting from the money generated are commanding these organisations themselves.
The concept is a creation of our very own Hindi heartland ingenuity where small businessmen have tied up with local politicians to catapult them to the national stage via the shortcut of this medium. They have found a short cut to the process being followed in South India where politicians or their kin need to own media houses to stay in "positive news".
Just forget that there will ever be any action in this case. The paid news concept is well entrenched in our political system.

Telangana or no Telangana

The Congress has played to the house very well. Announcing that it was in favour of creating Telangana as a new state. But the announcement came with a rider: It will only be done when there is a consensus on it.........do we still need to read between the lines.
