MF Husain

The buzz in the government circles is that the painter MF Husain may soon be returning to the country. The painter who has been on a self-imposed exile from the country ever since coming under attack for drawing nude portraits of Hindu Goddesses may not face a prison term on return. The painter who is facing several charges after allegations of inciting religious hatred through his nude paintings is unlikely to face government action on his return.
Is this a part of a wider game plan...........to serve a particular community while trying to incense the other one. As long as there is a law in the land and it is found to be broken...shouldn't the person be brought to the book? Shouldn't gods or prophets of various religions be kept on equal footing when dealing with such practices by human individuals? How can cartoon of a prophet of a particular religion elicit prompt response when the feelings of the majority community are taken into consideration? The governments decision to not act against the painter seems to be another attempt at serving and seeking the vores of the largest minority community in India.
